Bhagavad Gita Meditation Mat
Bhagavad Gita Meditation Mat
The Divine Song, the Bhagavad Gita, serves as our timeless guide for deep spiritual and philosophical insights. In Chapter 6, it details the ideal approach, particularly in Verse 11, where the āsana, or meditation seat, is described as consisting of three layers, each with specific qualities and placement.

Drawing from these ancient teachings and blending them with modern sensibilities, we’ve crafted a meditation rug that honors tradition while elevating your meditation experience.
- The Gita advises laying Kuśha grass on the ground, followed by a layer of deer skin, and finally covering it with cloth. Drawing inspiration from this and understanding its deeper significance in a modern context, we have crafted this classic meditation rug, layering jute, wool, and pure, breathable cotton. The rug is finished with tassels at the corners for a refined, aesthetic touch.
- The verse also highlights the significance of the meditation seat's height, which must neither be too high nor too low to maintain meditation quality. With this in mind, we've ensured the rug's thickness is at an optimal height to help you reach deeper states of meditation.
- The rug comes with a canvas bag designed to protect it from dirt and wear & tear. Also making it easy to carry to your sacred space.

Use & Care
Unzip the bag and spread the rug in your clean, ventilated meditation space. Ensure the rug rests on a level and stable surface to provide a secure foundation for your practice. Sit comfortably and allow your body to sink in and align with the meditation rug. Maintain the quality of the rug and its outer case by storing them in a dry, cool place. For spills or minor stains on the rug, clean with a damp cloth. Avoid saturating the fabric, and allow it to air dry completely before reuse. Keep the rug in the bag when not in use.
